Job summary

Luxoft Poland in Kraków is seeking a senior Python Engineer to join a long-term, enterprise-scale project for a global investment banking client. You will help build and evolve mission-critical backend services supporting complex workflows and system integrations.

The role centers on distributed microservices using Python (FastAPI, AsyncIO), REST/Kafka, and cloud-native patterns in a containerized environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Python development and production systems.
• Advanced Python with scalable microservices (FastAPI, AsyncIO).
• Experience with API integration patterns and inter-service communication (REST, Kafka).
• Authn/Authz: OAuth2 and JWT implementations.
• Two backend/data-intensive productions, high-throughput APIs, or data pipelines.
• Relational/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), caching (Redis), message queues, containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong CS fundamentals, testing (pytest), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend systems and microservices.
• Develop clean, maintainable code and scale distributed services.
• Apply best practices and evaluate trade-offs for architectural patterns.
• Collaborate with architects, QA, DevOps and stakeholders in agile setup.
