Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a Senior Python engineer to design, build and operate REST and asynchronous APIs on Azure, ensuring reliability, security and performance. You will develop Python REST and async APIs with FastAPI or Django, model PostgreSQL and NoSQL schemas, implement messaging with Azure Service Bus, containerize with Docker and deploy to AKS, and uphold observability with App Insights.

This role requires 7+ years of backend experience, strong coding standards, and collaboration across teams

Qualifications

• 7+ years back-end development with 4+ years in Python (FastAPI/Django).
• Experience building and operating services on Azure and deploying REST and async APIs.
• Relational and NoSQL data modelling, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong focus on security, reliability and observability.

Responsibilities

• Develop Python REST and async APIs and publish OpenAPI contracts.
• Model PostgreSQL and NoSQL schemas and manage migrations.
• Implement messaging with Azure Service Bus / Event Grid and background tasks.
• Configure authentication (OAuth2, JWT, Azure AD) and caching; API gateway routing.
• Containerise with Docker and deploy to AKS/Container Apps via CI/CD.
• Instrument logging, tracing and metrics with Application Insights/OpenTelemetry.
• Provide production support and root-cause analysis.
