Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a senior Python developer to lead the build of a new data and application platform for a client in the investment banking sector. You will design, develop, and maintain backend services and data pipelines using PySpark and Databricks, while guiding the team on architecture and best practices.

You will mentor engineers, implement RESTful APIs, and contribute to CI/CD processes in Azure DevOps.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of professional software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with PySpark and distributed data processing.
• Proven experience designing, building and maintaining ETL pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle, including strong SQL skills.
• Good working knowledge of Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
• Experience scheduling and monitoring batch jobs with Autosys.
• Background in Java or C# development.
• Experience in automated testing of data pipelines and applications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with agile practices (Scrum, Kanban).
• Good communication skills and ability to state requirements clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end services and APIs using Python.
• Build and optimize data pipelines and workloads on Databricks.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and release processes in Azure DevOps.
• Advise and guide the team on architecture and best practices.
• Mentor developers through code reviews and pair programming.
• Define and consume RESTful APIs across teams.
• Translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Apply clean code principles and improve engineering standards.
• Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration).
• Participate in Scrum/Kanban ceremonies and planning.
• Collaborate with QA, PMs, and architects for high-quality deliveries.
• Support and improve existing applications in enterprise investment-banking environment.
