Job summary

The Codest is seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to own the production system end-to-end. The stack includes Docker Compose with lighttpd, MariaDB, IPFS, and log/monitoring tools. You will design scalability, automate deployments, and evaluate cloud services as we grow.

Responsibilities include building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), observability, TLS/ACME management, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Ansible). Remote-first, full/part-time options available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional Linux sysadmin / DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering.
• Docker fluency: writing, debugging, and optimizing Dockerfiles and compose stacks.
• Networking fundamentals: DNS, TLS, HTTP, reverse proxies, load balancers.
• Scripting: Bash and Python (or Go/Ruby).
• Hands-on CI/CD pipeline design with modern systems.
• Production operations experience with on-call, postmortems, capacity planning.
• Experience with a major cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) and its primitives.
• Git fluency and English writing for runbooks and postmortems.

Responsibilities

• Operate the production system: deployments, rollbacks, capacity, incidents.
• Design and execute horizontal scaling, load balancing, caching, and replication.
• Evaluate and integrate cloud building blocks for storage and databases.
• Stand up CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for tests, builds, and deploys.
• Establish observability: metrics, logs, alerts, and SLOs.
• Manage TLS/ACME, DNS, and secrets management; automate credentials.
• Introduce IaC (Terraform/Ansible) for reproducible production.
• Use AI coding assistants to author IaC modules and runbooks.
