Job summary

ICEYE is seeking a Senior Optomechanical Engineer in Warsaw to lead the mechanical design of the optical payload, from early concept through prototyping, integration, and pre-launch qualification. You will work hands-on in CAD, materials, and precision mechanics to translate advanced optical designs into flight-ready structures.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of mechanical CAD design, analysis and optimization across all project phases (concept to production).
• Familiarity with material science to guide selection and analysis for space environment (outgassing, thermal cycling, thermoelastic effects).
• Ownership mindset with hands-on, iterative R&D learning by doing.
• Experience delivering design through suppliers to production, verified and ready for qualification.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical side of the optical payload's development from concept to production and pre-launch qualification, hands-on CAD design and optimization.
• Interface between optical and mechanical domains to preserve performance through assembly and testing.
• Build and maintain relationships with manufacturers and subcontractors to ensure precision, alignment and quality.
