Job summary

ICEYE is seeking a Thermal Engineer in Warsaw, Poland to own the thermal design of the next-generation satellite platform and its imaging payload. This permanent, hybrid role places you at the heart of a small, hands-on team from concept through integration, testing, and in-orbit validation.

You will drive thermal analysis at the system level, select materials, and manage thermal hardware from concept to qualification, working with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure precise thermal

Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge and hands-on skills in spacecraft thermal design, analysis, and optimization.
  • Experience with material science and engineering for space environments (outgassing, thermal cycling).
  • Familiarity with TVAC and thermal balance testing, including pre-launch campaigns.
  • Hands-on experience with thermal spacecraft hardware: heat pipes, surface treatments, MLI, and active thermal control components.

Responsibilities

  • Be a founding member of the spacecraft systems team, guiding design from concept to in-orbit validation.
  • Lead thermal design and optimization of the satellite platform and its interfaces; participate hands-on in hardware assembly and testing.
  • Drive system-level thermal analysis and simulations for next-generation satellites.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors during development and specify qualification tests.
  • Own thermal hardware concepts, propose suppliers, and validate designs.
