Job summary

Hatch in Katowice, Poland, is seeking a Senior OCS Engineer to join our Global Rail Systems team. You will design overhead contact system layouts and support structures for rail and streetcar systems, working with a team on multiple projects from concept to completion.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Mechanical/Electrical degree and have 10–15 years in DC OCS design, with EN/IEC/UIC standard knowledge and CAD proficiency. English fluency is required; Polish language a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• 10 to 15 years of experience in DC OCS system design.
• Design of 600 to 1500 VDC rail systems and 12 to 25 kV AC transit systems.
• Thorough understanding of EN, IEC, UIC railway standards.
• Professional Engineering Registration is an advantage.
• Experience with North American and/or European transit/transportation industries is highly desirable.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design OCS layouts, wire tensions, foundations, poles, columns, and structures for light rail, commuter rail, and streetcar systems.
• Coordinate with other engineers on systems integration and design.
• Develop project documents including specifications, drawings, and cost estimates.
• Review project submittals and requests for information from contractors.
• Provide installation, testing, and commissioning support to clients.
• Manage OCS projects.
