Job summary

Hatch in Katowice, Poland, is seeking a Senior Traction Power Engineer to lead a team of electrical engineers on traction power design packages for global rail projects. The role requires strong technical leadership, precise documentation, and the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to meet demanding schedules.

You will design DC and 25 kV AC substations, perform load-flow studies, develop specifications and drawings, and support installation and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering.
• 15–25 years in traction power design (DC/AC).
• Experience with DC and 25 kV AC substations.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70, NEC, EN, IEC standards.
• Professional Engineering Registration or Engineer-in-Training advantageous.
• English fluency; other languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of junior electrical engineers in traction power design.
• Design traction power substations, feeder systems, sizing, and layouts.
• Coordinate with other engineers on systems integration and design.
• Perform load flow simulations and prepare reports.
• Develop project documents including specifications, drawings and cost estimates.
• Review project submittals and RFIs from contractors.
• Provide installation, testing and commissioning support to clients.
• Manage traction power projects.
