Job summary

Be | Shaping the Future Poland is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to provide technical leadership for the Campus WiFi product area. The role includes on-call responsibilities and governance of Change, Release, Incident, and Problem management.

Responsibilities include network planning, design, and configuration of Cisco WLC (9800 Series), SSIDs, RF profiles, site surveys, and firmware lifecycle management. Experience with CheckMK is desirable.

Qualifications

• CCNA or CCNP Wireless certification.
• Strong experience with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (9800 Series).
• Experience in technical leadership and mentoring of engineering teams.
• Strong troubleshooting and operational support skills in enterprise wireless environments.

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the technical leadership and coordination of Network Engineers within the Campus WiFi product area. The role includes operational responsibility for the RUN environment, covering configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (9800 Series), including SSID management, RF profile configuration, site surveys, and firmware lifecycle management.

Key responsibilities include acting as Technical Lead during major incidents, including participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation, and managing Change, Release, Incident, and Problem Management processes. The role also covers Event and Availability Management (using CheckMK), as well as Capacity, Vulnerability, and CMDB Management. Support for audits, Continuous Service Improvement (CSI), and Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BCP/DR) activities is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical leadership and coordination of Network Engineers within the Campus WiFi service
• Network planning, design, and architecture
• Installation and configuration of network components
• Network performance optimization
• Configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (9800 Series)
• Management of SSIDs, RF profiles, wireless site surveys, and firmware lifecycle activities
• Quality assurance of network configurations, including analysis and troubleshooting in accordance with client operational processes
• Implementation of planned network changes following established client change management procedures
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation in accordance with client documentation standards
• Technical Lead for Major Incidents, including participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation
• Management of Change, Release, Incident, and Problem processes
• Event and Availability Management using CheckMK
• Capacity, Vulnerability, and CMDB Management
• Support for audits, Continuous Service Improvement (CSI), and Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BCP/DR) activities

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Cisco CCNA or CCNP Wireless certification (or equivalent)
• Strong experience with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (9800 Series)
• Experience in technical leadership and mentoring of engineering teams
• Strong troubleshooting and operational support skills in enterprise wireless environments

Preferred Qualifications

• ITIL knowledge and experience
• Experience with network automation tools such as Ansible and Python
• Experience with CheckMK monitoring solutions
• German language skills are an advantage
