Job summary

METTLER TOLEDO is seeking an experienced IT infrastructure engineer to operate, support, and continuously improve our Linux-based services on VMware platforms. You will work with teams across Europe, Asia, and the U.S. to ensure high availability, security, and performance of critical systems.

The role emphasizes automation (Ansible, Terraform) and IaC practices, with on-call rotations and a strong focus on security and incident response. Hybrid work model and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience implementing, managing, and supporting enterprise IT infrastructures with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Responsibilities

• Operate, support, and improve IT infrastructure solutions with a global scope.
• Act as SME for RHEL, Rocky Linux, Debian servers on VMware infrastructure.
• Perform server provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure high availability, security, and performance of Linux-based services.
• Monitor health, performance, capacity, and availability across Linux environment.
• Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Develop and maintain automation for system administration tasks.
• Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities and insecure configurations.
• Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and capacity planning.
• Provide 2nd level support, participate in on-call rotations, and document tech processes.
