Job summary

Caspian One in Poland is seeking a technically credible engineer to lead architecture and delivery across multiple squads on a multi-year re-platforming programme. You will guide governance, design and risk decisions in a complex enterprise environment.

You will work across product, BA, testing and engineering, steering platform modernisation and migration strategies while ensuring robust rollback plans and governance compliance for critical systems.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading architecture, governance and delivery in enterprise-grade migrations.
• Strong experience with containerised environments, messaging systems, and API-driven services.
• Ability to navigate complex governance and enterprise change processes.

Role Overview

A major financial institution is delivering a multi‑year re‑platforming and application migration programme running until 2028. You’ll operate as a lead, technically credible engineer who can work across multiple squads rather than focus solely on ticket delivery. The programme requires someone who can bring structure, challenge assumptions, and guide teams through architectural, governance and delivery decisions in a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical leadership across ~5 squads, acting as a trusted escalation point for architecture, design and delivery questions.
• Governance & oversight across migration approaches, platform modernisation and application replacement initiatives.
• Risk management: identifying failure points, defining validation strategies, ensuring robust rollback and recovery plans.
• Stakeholder collaboration with a core group of ~5 senior contributors across product, BA, testing and engineering.
• Support immediate priorities, including the replacement of the existing platform.

Required Experience

• Containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes or similar).
• FIX connectivity.
• Solace and/or Kafka.
• gRPC and REST APIs.
• Proven background in large‑scale migrations, platform modernisation, or enterprise‑level integration work.
• Ability to navigate complex governance, approval flows, technology restrictions and enterprise change processes.
