Job summary

Luxoft Poland is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join our hybrid team in Poland. You will own end-to-end delivery of production‑grade solutions for banking applications, working directly with client development teams and stakeholders.

The role blends software engineering, DevOps, SRE, and security with a focus on modernization and reliability. You will primarily code and configure across development, testing, deployment, and production support, while improving CI/CD pipelines,

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineering background with experience developing, modernizing and supporting production apps.
• Actively write, review, debug and deploy production code across software engineering, platform engineering, security, testing and operations.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of technical initiatives from requirements through deployment and stabilization.
• Collaborate with development teams and client stakeholders to deliver reliable production-ready solutions.
• Assess code, dependencies, runtime environments, test coverage, CI/CD pipelines, observability and operational risks.
• Write, debug, review and improve production-quality code and configuration.

• Remediate vulnerabilities, analyze dependencies and improve secure coding practices.

Project Description:

The project is focused on improving the security, release reliability, maintainability, and operational resilience of business-critical banking applications. Forward Deployed Engineers conduct targeted, hands‑on engagements with development teams facing challenges related to vulnerability remediation, automated testing, legacy technology, production stability, and release management.

The role combines software engineering, DevOps, SRE, test automation, application security, and legacy modernization. Approximately 70% of the work involves hands‑on coding and configuration across development, testing, deployment, and production support activities.

The technical scope includes building automated test suites, remediating vulnerabilities, modernizing Java and Spring applications, improving CI/CD pipelines, containerizing applications, automating deployments, and implementing observability and resilience practices.

The Senior Forward Deployed Engineer is expected to take ownership of end-to-end implementation and delivery activities, working directly with development teams and client stakeholders to deliver production-ready solutions, improve engineering practices, and ensure successful deployment and stabilization of technical changes.

Responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end delivery of assigned technical initiatives, from requirements clarification through implementation, testing, deployment, and post-production stabilization.
• Work directly with development teams and client stakeholders to deliver reliable production-ready solutions.
• Assess application code, dependencies, runtime environments, test coverage, deployment architecture, CI/CD pipelines, observability and operational risks.
• Write, debug, review and improve production-quality code and configuration.
• Develop and enhance unit, integration, component, contract and deployment tests using Test-Driven Development practices.
• Create and maintain automated testing solutions integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Conduct vulnerability remediation, dependency analysis, regression testing and secure coding improvements.
• Upgrade Java, JVM, Spring, NPM and application dependencies to supported versions.
• Modernize Java applications and legacy middleware platforms.
• Containerize applications using Docker and support deployment to OpenShift environments.
• Design, implement and improve CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and repeatable releases.
• Improve Git workflows, code-review practices, development standards and delivery quality.
• Implement observability and operational resilience practices including logging, metrics, tracing and monitoring.
• Support production deployments, troubleshooting, diagnostics and stabilization activities.
• Contribute to engineering standards, documentation and knowledge sharing across teams.

Mandatory Skills Description:

The role requires a strong hands‑on engineering background with recent experience developing, modernizing and supporting production applications. Candidates are expected to actively write, review, debug and deploy code while working across software engineering, platform engineering, security, testing and operational domains. Expertise in Java/JVM technologies is essential, while TypeScript experience is valuable for selected projects.

Hard Skills:

• Java/JVM development with strong Spring ecosystem expertise; TypeScript experience is a plus
• Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing integrated into CI/CD pipelines
• Secure coding, vulnerability remediation, dependency management and application security practices
• Runtime, framework and library modernization, including Java, Spring and container platforms
• Docker, OpenShift and Linux administration, preferably within enterprise production environments
