Job summary

Nordea is seeking an experienced Java Developer to join the Safekeeping and Corporate Actions Development team. The role focuses on designing, building and maintaining integration components that connect Safekeeping with other Nordea systems, within a microservices landscape using Kafka, MQ, REST APIs and API Gateway.

The candidate will lead technical decisions, mentor peers, and collaborate with architects to ensure scalable, reliable solutions across a complex trading lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java development for large-scale systems.
• Hands-on experience with integration components and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of MQ, Kafka, and REST APIs.
• Experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, Testcontainers).
• Familiarity with CI/CD (Bamboo) and version control (Git).
• Ability to mentor and guide team members on best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and enhance integration components for Safekeeping systems.
• Own technical quality, coding standards and architectural improvements.
• Mentor team members in best practices and code reviews.
• Lead architecture decisions with solution/enterprise architects.
• Translate business requirements into technical specs for cross-functional teams.
• Be the technical voice in Scrum ceremonies and drive technical estimates.
• Ensure system reliability with monitoring and incident handling.
