Project
You will be involved in a financial project focused on developing and modernising backend integration components around the Safekeeping and Corporate Actions platform. The work involves Java‑based microservices and integration components connecting IMSecurities with other Nordea systems. The platform is undergoing intensive development, including migration of business flows and volumes, implementation of new business logic, and rearchitecture of existing application components. Working in a Scrum environment, you will contribute to development, analysis, deployment activities, troubleshooting, and knowledge sharing across the team.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support Java-based microservices and integration components
- Develop integrations between IMSecurities and other enterprise systems
- Support application modernization and rearchitecture initiatives
- Implement new business functionality and support business flow migrations
- Participate in requirement analysis and clarification activities
- Analyse business and system flows
- Support deployment planning and release activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and promote good development practices
- Work within Agile Scrum teams using Jira
Expected competences and knowledge
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Java backend development within large‑scale enterprise environments
- Knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle
- Messaging and event‑driven integration, preferably IBM MQ and Kafka
- Familiarity with containerised environments and Kubernetes
- Experience with REST services, microservices and integration patterns
- Experience working with Maven, Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Automated testing with JUnit and Testcontainers
- Ability to analyse requirements, system flows, logs, data flows and production issues
- Fluent English
Nice-to-have Knowledge And Experience
- Experience in banking or trading environments
- Experience with cloud‑ready application design
- Experience modernising integration custody, settlement, corporate actions or another regulated domain
- Experience with containerisation and layers around vendor platforms or legacy systems
