Job summary

FreeBalance in Kraków, Poland, is seeking a Software Development Team Lead to oversee backend engineering for the FreeBalance Accountability Suite. You will guide architecture, implementation, and delivery of scalable Java/Spring/Hibernate solutions in a government-focused ERP context.

You will mentor engineers, drive coding standards, collaborate with analysts and QA, and align technical plans with product strategy while maintaining strong performance and security across the platform.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in Java design and development for enterprise-scale web-based applications.
• At least 2 years in a technical leadership, team lead, or mentorship role.
• Proven experience as a Software Architect or Tech Lead with deep knowledge of web-based applications.
• University degree in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of backend solutions in Java/Spring/Hibernate.
• Define architectural direction and coding standards for the product suite.
• Mentor and coach software developers and oversee sprint planning.
• Collaborate with front-end teams to define robust API contracts.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes and quality assurance.
