Job summary

EPAM's Financial Services Practice seeks a Senior Java Developer to join world-class engineers, designing and maintaining Java-based backend services and scalable RESTful APIs for high-impact financial platforms.

Based in Warsaw, you will collaborate with global teams to build reactive, data-intensive systems in a fast-paced environment, with hybrid work and three days on client site.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Java development experience — Java 8 & 9.
• Experience with NoSQL databases — MongoDB.
• Experience implementing REST APIs — with JAX-RS.
• Experience with Reactive Programming — RxJava.
• Solid experience implementing unit tests.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication in English for international collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust Java-based backend services and applications
• Build and enhance scalable RESTful APIs serving critical business functions
• Implement reactive, event-driven solutions for high-throughput data processing
• Work with NoSQL databases to manage and query large-scale datasets
• Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability
• Collaborate with globally distributed, cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to system design for scalability and performance
• Operate within an Agile Scrum framework, delivering iteratively with continuous feedback
