Société Générale in Warsaw invites a Senior Java Backend Developer to build and maintain backend solutions for structured finance applications, liquidity calculations and regulatory reporting. Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant experience in Java backend development.
• Experience with Spring & Spring Boot frameworks.
• Proficient in Jenkins and Maven.
• Comfortable with relational databases and SQL.
• Fluent in English; Polish or French would be an asset.

Within the Structured Finance & Liquidity team (SFL), you will work on banking applications supporting structured finance activities, liquidity calculations and regulatory reporting.

Within the Structured Finance & Liquidity team (SFL), you will work on banking applications supporting structured finance activities, liquidity calculations and regulatory reporting.

Your role will be to contribute to the development and maintenance of information systems used by Société Générale’s Corporate and Investment Banking business.

The team works closely with business users, Business Analysts and IT teams located in Paris and Warsaw.

As we continue to grow our entity in Poland, we are looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer who will help build and enhance backend solutions, support technical design and ensure that delivered solutions meet both business and regulatory requirements.

Your future scope of responsibility will cover:

• Developing code by applying Software Craftsmanship best practices and quality standards (technical debt, clean code, review, peer programming, infrastructure as a code etc.)
• Understanding business requirements and defining technical solutions to implement them
• Regularly delivering product increments
• Working closely with development team located in Paris (remotely)
• Applying release processes, and L1/L2/L3 support in case of production issue by applying technical fixes
• Integrating and applying Agile methodology by participating, and contributing to all ceremonies
• Actively collaborating on specifications, test plans and certification together with Business Analysts
• Providing technical analysis, effort estimation and risk assessment to support project scoping and ensure the solution meets business needs
• Seeking the most appropriate solution to ensure security, scalability and efficiency
• Analyzing errors and contributing to continuous improvement solutions
• Sharing knowledge with other Team Members
• Participating weekend operations for resiliency tests, upgrades etc. (2-3 weekends per year)
• Developing and maintaining continuous delivery tools
• Creating and managing technical documentations

Profile required

You will be best suited for this role if:

• You have 5+ years relevant experience in Java backend development
• You have experience working with Spring & Spring Boot frameworks
• You are familiar with and proficient in using Jenkins and Maven
• You are comfortable working with relational databases and SQL
• You are able to translate mathematical equations into code
• You understand how web services and are familiar with monitoring tools like Logstash, Kibana and Elasticsearch (nice to have)
• You work efficiently in Agile environments & BDD practices
• You possess strong analytical, and problem-solving skills
• You are customer-oriented, a team player and value partnership-based relationships
• You have continuous improvement mindset and excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
• You are able to plan and prioritize your work
• You are fluent in English (Polish or French will be an asset)
