Job summary

ROCKWOOL Group in Poznań is seeking a Senior IT Security Consultant to lead day‑to‑day security operations and complex security projects. You will own incidents, drive improvements, and collaborate with global teams to strengthen the security posture.

The role requires hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Defender, Elastic Security, and PAM (CyberArk), plus Python/PowerShell skills and travel readiness. English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in IT security.
• 3+ years with Microsoft Defender Platform and/or Elastic SIEM.
• 3+ years with PAM systems (CyberArk).
• Programming experience in Python and/or PowerShell.
• Strong incident response and threat hunting knowledge.
• Engineering/CS degree or equivalent certifications are a plus.
• Professional English communication.

Responsibilities

• 2nd/3rd level IT security incident support and root cause analysis.
• Developing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Defender platform.
• Monitor alerts from EDR and SIEM; respond and investigate.
• Conduct digital forensics and vulnerability assessments with remediation guidance.

What You Will Be Doing

As a 2nd / 3rd level support and technical security specialist, you will take ownership of technical security solutions throughout their full lifecycle. You will play a crucial role in maintaining day-to-day IT security operations, responding to incidents, and driving continuous improvement in our security posture.

As a Senior IT Security Consultant, you will be responsible for:

• Acting as 2nd and 3rd level support for IT security incidents, resolving issues, and conducting root cause analysis
• Developing, configuring, and supporting our Microsoft Defender platform to ensure optimal configuration and operational readiness
• Monitoring and following up on alerts from our EDR and SIEM systems (Elastic Security)
• Conducting digital forensics on IT security incidents and executing vulnerability assessments with actionable corrective recommendations
• Contributing to the development and administration of our Privileged Access Management (PAM) system (CyberArk)
• Participating in IT security projects by supporting security architecture design and optimizing solutions against baseline requirements
• Facilitating dialogue and collaboration with internal teams, including Digital Platforms, Group Operational Technology (GOT), and Group Development (GD)

What You Bring

• Minimum 7 years of overall experience within IT security
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft Defender Platform and/or SIEM (Elastic Security)
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience with PAM systems (preferably CyberArk)
• Programming experience with Python and/or PowerShell
• Strong understanding of cybercriminal attack paths, methodologies, and incident response techniques
• Higher education degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; and/or professional certifications (e.g., GCIH, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ESL) are a strong asset
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English
• Analytical mindset, strong problem‑solving skills, and the willingness to ask hard questions to reach underlying technical truths
• Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 10–15 days per year)

It would be an advantage if you have :

• Experience with security frameworks such as ISO 27xxx, NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0, CIS 18 or similar
• Experience with Trend Micro Vision One
• Technical insight into OT or Industrial Control Systems (ICS)
• Experience with cloud platforms security (GCP and/or Azure)
