Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Purchasing Agent (Buyer) in Katowice to drive timely procurement of materials and equipment for multinational projects. You will collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to ensure alignment with schedules and budgets, supporting international tenders and contract administration.

The role emphasizes strong negotiation, vendor management, and adherence to quality standards within a complex project environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a Buyer in local and international markets.
• Experience managing procurement for large-scale or complex projects.
• Strong technical aptitude with materials, fabrication processes, and supply chain items.
• Proven ability to achieve quality, cost and schedule objectives.
• Understanding of engineering concepts and interdisciplinary dependencies.
• Expertise in procurement, contracting, and commissioning methodologies.
• Familiarity with ISO 9000 and ISO 19011 standards.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of project execution including materials management.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement for local and international orders across project lifecycle.
• Form, award, administer and close out purchase orders.
• Develop and implement purchasing procedures and templates.
• Oversee bidding processes: bid documents, bidder meetings, queries, analyses, and awards.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and import/export regulations.
• Coordinate progress payments and contractual changes.
• Expedite post‑award materials and vendor documentation as required.
