Job summary

People Can Fly, a leading AAA game studio, is seeking an experienced animator to translate gameplay and storytelling into compelling in-game animations. Based in Europe, you will work with a talented team across projects like Gears of War collaborations and new IPs.

You will handle hand-key animation and motion capture data, iterate on assets, and collaborate on streaming gameplay experiences. English proficiency and passion for gaming are essential.

Qualifications

• Typically 5+ years’ professional experience as an animator in games.
• Good understanding and feel for animation principles – timing, weight and staging.
• Great ability to transfer game’s story and gameplay into believable and life-like animations.
• Experience animating creatures and quadrupeds.
• Solid understanding of character anatomy.
• Proficiency with animation tools.
• Ability to think outside the box to find efficient techniques.
• Ability to follow direction and implement feedback.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Open-minded team player attitude.
• Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
• Passionate about playing and making video games.

Responsibilities

• Follow the established vision of the game’s story and gameplay in the process of animation creation.
• Create high-quality content using both hand key animation and motion capture data.
• Develop animations that support gameplay and visuals.
• Implement and iterate on animation assets in-game.
• Collaborate with the team to create dynamic, player-centric experiences.
• Troubleshoot and solve animation issues with all departments.
• Occasionally support Lead in recruitment projects with HR collaboration.
• Work with Game Design to prototype new archetypes.
• Work with motion capturing (i.e. building shot lists, directing actors).
• Occasionally support new hires onboarding process.
