Job summary

HS Financial Technologies is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to support the fund accounting/NAV team. You will perform NAV production, reconciliations, and corporate actions processing, under supervision, with extensive training and AML/KYC requirements.

The role emphasizes accuracy, timely delivery, and collaboration with brokers and clients. A Bachelor’s degree and fund industry experience are preferred, with opportunities for remote/hybrid work and support for ACCA/CIMA/IOB certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in producing daily, weekly and monthly NAV per NAV checklist.
• Perform cash, position and market value reconciliations between HSFT, brokers and clients.
• Respond to client queries promptly and efficiently.
• Identify and investigate break items and liaise with brokers/clients.
• Escalate fund accounting issues to Supervisor.
• Ensure all positions are priced correctly and verify corporate actions.
• Prepare daily P&L and review for reasonableness.
• Calculate income and expense accruals including fee/trading accruals.
• Comply with HSFT procedures and controls; assist audit as needed.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve fund issues.
• Meet pre‑agreed deadlines; adapt to changing priorities.

Job description

A Senior Fund Accountant will be required to perform the following responsibilities within the fund accounting or NAV department. They shall be executed within the guidelines and procedures provided by HSFT and under the supervision and guidance of a Fund Accounting Supervisor and Fund Accounting Manager. Key responsibilities of the Fund Accountant’s role include reconciliation, trade capture, corporate actions processing, and pricing. They will be required to perform tasks accurately and within required timelines. Every Fund Accountant will receive the requisite Induction Training in addition to both compulsory training (AML/KYC) and optional training. Additional, client-specific training will be provided by the NAV Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the production of daily, weekly and monthly NAV, ensuring completion of specified tasks per NAV checklist
• Perform cash, position and market value reconciliations between HSFT, brokers and clients
• Respond to client queries in a timely and efficient manner
• Identify and investigate break items on reconciliations in a timely manner and liaise with brokers and clients to address break items
• Escalate fund accounting issues and aged items to the Fund Accounting Supervisor
• Ensure all positions are priced correctly
• Verify corporate actions to ensure accurate processing
• Prepare daily profit and loss reports and review for reasonableness
• Calculate and process income and expense accruals including fee calculations and trading accruals
• Comply with HSFT’s defined checklists, procedures and controls
• Assist in the audit process if required
• Collaborate and liaise with internal service departments to address miscellaneous fund issues
• Ensure pre-agreed internal and external deadlines are met consistently
• The role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing priorities

Our requirements:

• Completed bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance
• Intention to actively pursue a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA) is not required but would be an advantage
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within the funds industry is desired. Alternative HedgeFund experience may be considered
