ALTEN Polska is seeking a seasoned software professional to join a cross-functional Kraków team. You will break down business requirements into user stories, deliver features to production, and support the system while managing technical debt.

The role requires 5+ years of development experience, strong SOLID/DDD/BDD knowledge, and Java/Python with Spring; SQL/NoSQL experience (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and fluent English are essential. ML/AI experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong grasp of SOLID, Clean Code, DDD, and BDD principles.
• Proficiency in Java and Python.
• Extensive experience with the Spring Framework.
• Hands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with event streaming technologies and microservices architecture.
• Ability to mentor and collaborate with engineers on system design and solutions.
• Fluent English communication (written and verbal).
• Experience in Machine Learning, NLP, AI, or Data Science is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate within a cross-functional team of 4–6 members, working closely with a dedicated Product Owner (local or geographically dispersed).
• Break down business requirements into iterative user stories and deliver them to production.
• Provide product support as part of the team’s ownership ("the team builds it, the team supports it").
• Identify and address technical debt, balancing it with new feature development.
• Design solutions for new requirements, ensuring alignment with technology guidelines and constraints.
• Engage in pair programming and knowledge-sharing with team members.
