Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to help secure and modernize business-critical banking apps. You will lead hands-on efforts in Java/JVM with Spring, improve CI/CD pipelines, containerize apps, and drive secure coding practices.

The role blends DevOps, SRE, test automation, and legacy modernization, with ~70% coding and configuration work. Expect direct collaboration with client teams, defined remediation approaches, and ongoing enhancement of engineering standards using AI-assisted

Qualifications

• Hands-on software engineering with Java/JVM and Spring.
• Strong testing mindset with TDD and CI/CD experience.
• Secure coding, vulnerability remediation, and dependency risk analysis.
• Ability to upgrade runtimes/frameworks and manage container platforms.
• Proficient Linux administration, build tools, and Git workflows.
• Exposure to observability, distributed systems, and production debugging.
• Client-facing communication and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead targeted technical engagements addressing security, testing, release, resilience, and legacy challenges.
• Assess code, dependencies, runtime, test coverage, CI/CD, and deployment risks.
• Write, debug, review production code and configurations.
• Define modernization and remediation plans with priorities, risks, and outcomes.
• Develop unit, integration, and deployment tests; drive test automation.
• Architect and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated, repeatable releases.
• Containerize applications and support OpenShift deployments.
• Coach engineers and transfer knowledge; own delivery from assessment to handover.
