Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in the medical device industry, clinical research, field clinical engineering, sales support, or as a cardiac physiologist.
  • Hands-on experience in electrophysiology (EP) ablation or cardiac rhythm management procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day execution of clinical trials within your assigned territory, ensuring sites are prepared, supported, and engaged throughout the study lifecycle.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for investigators and site staff, providing clinical, technical, and procedural expertise.
  • Support site qualification, initiation, and enrolment readiness activities, including IRB support and investigator training.
  • Deliver hands-on technical support during EP and cardiac rhythm management procedures and follow-up visits in cath lab and clinical environments.
  • Build long-term relationships with physicians and clinical teams to sustain engagement in clinical programs.
  • Lead clinical initiatives and projects to improve study execution and site performance.
  • Collaborate with internal clinical, regulatory, and commercial stakeholders to ensure aligned trial delivery.

Senior Field Clinical Research Engineer
About The Role

At Boston Scientific, your work helps advance innovative cardiac technologies that improve patients’ lives. As a Senior Field Clinical Research Engineer, you will play a key hands‑on role in supporting both pre- and post-market clinical trials, working directly with leading cardiac centres across European countries.

This role is ideal for someone who values autonomy, ownership, and close collaboration with clinicians. The position offers strong visibility within an international clinical organisation and exposure to European-level clinical programs.

The role is based can be based in any European country, although fluency in French language is strongly preferred, alongside a willingness for travel across other European countries to support clinical trial activities on an occasional ad hoc basis.

Work mode: Field base role with the expectation to travel.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will serve as a key clinical interface between Boston Scientific and investigational clinical trial sites. You will support studies from early site engagement through patient enrolment and follow‑up, directly contributing to study quality, patient safety, and the successful development of future cardiac therapies.

You will work independently in the field for clinical trial activities, whilst remaining closely connected to a collaborative, international clinical research team.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with physicians and clinical teams, supporting sustained engagement in clinical programs.
  • Lead clinical initiatives and projects, contributing to continuous improvement of study execution and site performance.
  • Collaborate closely with internal clinical, regulatory, and commercial stakeholders to ensure aligned and effective trial delivery.
What Are We Looking For
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
  • Experience in the medical device industry, clinical research, field clinical engineering, sales support, or as a cardiac physiologist.
  • Hands‑on experience in electrophysiology (EP) ablation or cardiac rhythm management procedures.
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role, with a proactive and collaborative mindset.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with physicians and clinical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%, including some planned international travel within Europe.
