Job summary

FedEx Europe is seeking a Senior System Engineer (f/m) to act as the European SME for automated material handling control systems, supporting facilities across the region. You will define long-term standards, roadmaps, and lifecycle strategies to improve reliability and cybersecurity.

You will lead obsolescence programs, drive predictive maintenance initiatives, and mentor field teams across Europe. This role is based in Warsaw/Kraków with a strong emphasis on cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or Robotics.
• Experience with automation, controls engineering, reliability engineering, or material handling systems.
• Subject Matter Expert in industrial automation technologies including PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, and networks.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME for automated material handling control systems and provide guidance during escalations.
• Define and govern European standards for PLCs, SCADA, networks, and architectures.
• Develop roadmaps and lifecycle strategies for reliability and standardization.
• Lead obsolescence and modernization programs for automation equipment.
• Support predictive maintenance deployments and data-driven reliability improvements.
• Coach and mentor local System Engineers and maintenance teams.
• Review vendor designs to ensure alignment with corporate standards.
