Job summary

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Tech Modernisation Framework team in Gdynia, Poland. You will help build AI-powered tooling to migrate legacy code to modern stacks, integrating with Tekton, ArgoCD, and Ansible.

You will design agent workflows, prompts and tooling, work hands-on with Claude Code and Maister, and collaborate with application teams to turn migration cases into repeatable automation across platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Solid software engineering basics: Git, code review, testing, clean and maintainable code.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts and containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes basics).
• Hands-on experience with, or strong interest in, LLMs and AI-assisted development (prompting, agents, tool use).
• Able to read and understand code in several languages, including legacy code (e.g. Java).
• Analytical, structured approach to problem-solving, comfortable with ambiguity and experimentation.
• Good communication skills in English and a collaborative attitude.

Senior Engineer - Tech modernization framework

Detailed description of work task to be carried out

We're looking for an engineer to join the team building our Tech Modernisation Framework. The framework uses AI to analyse legacy code repositories and rewrite them onto our modern, platform-approved technology stacks. You'll design and improve the agent workflows, prompts and tooling that drive these migrations, and connect them to our CI/CD and deployment platform (Tekton, ArgoCD, Ansible).

The work combines software engineering, platform automation and applied AI. You'll work hands-on with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code and the Maister project, using Anthropic and other LLM providers. The framework is deliberately vendor-agnostic, so we value people who understand the underlying concepts more than people tied to one product. You'll work closely with application teams to turn real migration cases into repeatable, reliable automation.

Must-have knowledge and experience
