Job summary

Optiveum is seeking a Senior Python AI Engineer to join a client in the enterprise and banking sector. You will design and implement an AI-driven framework that analyzes legacy code and rewrites it onto modern stacks, blending software engineering, platform automation and AI.

The role is hybrid in Poland with 3 days in the office and locations in Gdańsk/Gdynia, Warsaw or Łódź. Strong Python, CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes and LLM tooling experience, fluent English, and a collaborative mindset are

Qualifications

• Senior-level Python programming experience.
• Solid software engineering fundamentals: Git, reviews, testing, clean code.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Hands-on with LLMs and AI-assisted development (prompting, agents, tooling).
• Ability to read and understand code in multiple languages including legacy (e.g., Java).
• Analytical, structured problem-solving and comfort with ambiguity.
• Fluent English and collaborative attitude.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and improve agent workflows, prompts and tooling for legacy code migration.
• Connect the AI framework to CI/CD and deployment platforms (Tekton, ArgoCD, Ansible).
• Work hands-on with agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Maister) and various LLM providers.

Senior Python AI Engineer

About the Offer

We are currently looking for a Senior Python AI Engineer to join the team of our client, a prominent organization in the enterprise and banking sector.

In this role, you will be building a Tech Modernisation Framework: an innovative, AI-driven solution designed to analyze legacy code repositories and rewrite them onto modern, platform-approved technology stacks. The role blends software engineering, platform automation and applied AI.

For this role, Optiveum is the recruitment and contracting party, which means you will sign the cooperation agreement directly with us.

Key Details:

• Rate: 160 PLN/h net + VAT (B2B)

• Work Model: Hybrid (3 days a week in the office)

• Location: Gdańsk or Gdynia (Tricity), Warsaw or Łódź, Poland

Responsibilities:

• Design, build and improve agent workflows, prompts and tooling that automate legacy code migration.

• Connect the AI framework to the CI/CD and deployment platform (Tekton, ArgoCD, Ansible).

• Work hands-on with agentic coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Maister) and a range of LLM providers.

• Collaborate closely with application teams to turn real migration cases into repeatable, reliable automation.

• Keep the solution vendor-agnostic and maintainable, consistently applying clean-code and testing practices.

Requirements:

• Senior-level programming skills in Python.

• Solid software engineering fundamentals: Git, code reviews, testing, and writing clean, maintainable code.

• Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes basics).

• Hands-on experience with (or a strong technical interest in) LLMs and AI-assisted development (prompting, agents, tool use).

• Ability to read and understand code in several languages, including legacy code (e.g. Java).

• Analytical, structured approach to problem-solving; comfortable with ambiguity and experimentation.

• Fluent English and a collaborative attitude.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with Tekton, ArgoCD or other GitOps/pipeline tools.

• Knowledge of Ansible or other infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools.

• Experience with agentic coding tools (Claude Code or similar) and agent frameworks.

• Knowledge of LLM evaluation, context engineering or the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

• Background in legacy modernization, code migration or large-scale refactoring projects.

• Familiarity with Java/Spring, front-end stacks or other target application technologies.

• Previous experience working in a regulated or enterprise environment (e.g. banking/finance).
