Job summary

ALTEN Polska in Katowice is seeking an experienced Firmware/Embedded C++ engineer to design, develop, and maintain software for embedded devices, with focus on communication protocols like Ethernet/IP and CIP. You will participate in requirements analysis, system design, and code reviews in an Agile/SAFe environment.

The role requires at least five years in C++ development and embedded systems, strong English, and a degree in CS, Electronics, Automation, or Robotics.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial C++ development experience.
• Minimum 5 years in embedded systems/firmware development and debugging.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, requirements analysis, design, implementation and testing.
• Experience with TCP/IP, Ethernet, RTOS (QNX, VxWorks) or embedded architecture.
• Hands-on with Git/GitHub/GitLab and CI/CD tools (Jenkins).
• Very good English, minimum B2 level.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain firmware software in C++ for devices.
• Implement and validate functionalities for communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP and CIP.
• Debug software, analyze defects, and perform root cause analysis.
• Develop unit and integration tests and support CI/CD processes.
• Participate in requirements analysis, system design, and architectural discussions.
• Prepare technical documentation and conduct code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in embedded environments.
• Work in Agile/SAFe and collaborate with international teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge and best practices.
