Job summary

Altimi is seeking a Senior Developer to migrate a large EdTech platform from PHP/Laravel to a headless React + Node.js stack, using AI tooling to speed refactoring. You will migrate learning content and ensure seamless continuity for 2M users, while participating in client meetings to discuss progress and trade-offs.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding, architecture discussions and delivering functional parity with the legacy system, with a flexible remote/hybrid setup from Wroclaw, Poland.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Commercial experience with PHP/Laravel and strong proficiency in Node.js and React.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform services (e.g. Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Firestore).
• Proven experience with AI-assisted refactoring tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) in migrations or legacy projects.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with complex database logic.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD.
• Consultant mindset: experience working directly with clients, joining technical discussions and communicating progress.
• Fluent English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Migrate business logic from PHP/Laravel to Node.js using AI refactoring tools.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Developer with hands‑on experience in AI‑supported code refactoring to join a strategic project for a European EdTech leader. The client runs a large‑scale self‑learning mobile platform that has served 2M users to date, with around 100k monthly and 50k daily active users. You will help migrate the platform from a PHP/Laravel, SQL‑heavy application to a headless React + Node.js architecture with a fast database, using AI tooling to speed up the process. A key part of the work is the automated migration of learning content, so that learners keep a seamless experience throughout the transition. You will also take part in client meetings, so communication skills matter as much as coding.

Responsibilities

• Migrate business logic from PHP/Laravel to Node.js, using AI refactoring tools to accelerate the work
• Rewrite and optimize SQL logic and support data migration to the new database
• Build automated pipelines for migrating learning content
• Develop frontend components in React
• Verify AI‑generated code: testing, code review and ensuring functional parity with the old system
• Work closely with the Solution Architect and take part in technical discussions with the client
• Share findings and best practices for AI‑assisted development within the team
