Altimi is seeking a Senior Developer with hands-on AI-assisted code refactoring experience to join a strategic EdTech project. You will migrate a PHP/Laravel SQL-heavy platform to a headless React + Node.js stack, using AI tools to accelerate discovery and migration.

You will work with a client-facing role, attending meetings and sharing best practices for AI-enabled development. The role supports fully remote work, with options for full-time office presence in Wroclaw or hybrid work

Responsabilités

• Use AI discovery tools to extract requirements from legacy code and schemas.
• Build and maintain MCP servers for SDLC workflow and codebase, database, and CI/CD.
• Migrate business logic from PHP/Laravel to Node.js with AI-assisted refactoring.
• Rewrite and optimize SQL logic and support data migration to the new database.
• Build automated pipelines for migrating learning content.
• Develop frontend components in React.
• Verify AI-generated code via testing and code reviews; ensure parity with the old system.
• Collaborate with the Solution Architect and participate in client technical discussions.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Developer with hands‑on experience in AI‑supported code refactoring to join a strategic project for a European EdTech leader. The client runs a large‑scale self‑learning mobile platform that has served 2M users to date, with around 100k monthly and 50k daily active users. You will help migrate the platform from a PHP/Laravel, SQL‑heavy application to a headless React + Node.js architecture with a fast database, using AI tooling to speed up the process. At the core of the role is AI‑driven discovery, i.e. uncovering requirements straight from legacy code and database schemas, and building MCP servers that plug AI agents into the tech stack and SDLC workflow. A key part of the work is the automated migration of learning content, so learners keep a seamless experience throughout the transition. You will also take part in client meetings, so communication skills matter as much as coding.

Responsibilities

• Use AI discovery tools such as Explain Everything to extract requirements and business rules from legacy code and database schemas


• Build and maintain MCP servers for different parts of the tech stack and SDLC workflow (codebase, database, ticketing, CI/CD, testing)


• Migrate business logic from PHP/Laravel to Node.js, using AI refactoring tools to accelerate the work


• Rewrite and optimize SQL logic and support data migration to the new database
  
• Build automated pipelines for migrating learning content


• Develop frontend components in React


• Verify AI-generated code: testing, code review and ensuring functional parity with the old system


• Work closely with the Solution Architect and take part in technical discussions with the client


• Share findings and best practices for AI-assisted development within the team

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software development


• Deep, practical expertise in AI discovery tools such as Explain Everything, used to uncover and document business requirements straight from legacy code and database schemas


• Proficiency in building MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers for different parts of the tech stack and SDLC workflow


• Commercial experience with PHP/Laravel and strong proficiency in Node.js and React


• Experience with Google Cloud Platform services (e.g. Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Firestore)


• Practical experience with AI-assisted refactoring tools (e.g. Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) in a migration or legacy project


• Strong SQL skills and experience with complex database logic


• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD


• Consultant mindset: experience working directly with clients, joining technical discussions and clearly communicating progress and trade‑offs


• Fluent English (spoken and written)

Nice to have

• Experience with React Native or mobile app backends


• Experience in EdTech or e‑learning platforms
