Job summary

Atos is seeking an experienced Data Expert / Data Strategist to join a strategic data initiative supporting a major EU Municipality. You will define data strategies, governance frameworks, and data assets, enabling data-driven decision-making across public-sector projects. Remote with occasional travel to Germany.

Senior/Expert level; permanent or B2B. Master’s degree and 5 years in data strategy, governance, or management; fluent German (B2+).

Qualifications

• Master's degree required and 5+ years in data strategy or data governance or data management.
• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise data governance frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent German communication skills (minimum B2).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise-wide data strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
• Collaborate with business leaders and technical teams to identify data requirements.
• Define and implement data governance policies, standards and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with data protection, security and regulatory requirements.
• Design and optimize data management processes, data models and storage solutions.
• Oversee data quality initiatives including cleansing, validation and monitoring.
• Analyze data to identify trends, patterns and actionable insights.
• Support implementation of modern data platforms, databases and data pipelines.
• Provide expert guidance on data lifecycle management.
