We are looking for an experienced Data Expert / Data Strategist to join a strategic data management initiative supporting the major EU Municipality. In this role, you will help define and execute data strategies, establish governance frameworks, manage enterprise data assets, and enable data-driven decision-making across multiple public‑sector projects.

The position offers a high degree of autonomy and requires a professional capable of translating business goals into effective data management, governance, and analytics practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise‑wide data strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
• Collaborate with business leaders, stakeholders, and technical teams to identify data‑related requirements and opportunities.
• Define and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with data protection, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Design and optimize data management processes, data models, and storage solutions.
• Oversee data quality initiatives, including data cleansing, validation, and quality monitoring.
• Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in science
• 5 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Data Governance or
• Data Management
• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise data governance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of data quality management and data lifecycle processes.
• Experience working with large‑scale datasets and modern data platforms.
• Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience in public sector or large enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of data architecture and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with analytics, reporting, or machine learning initiatives.
• Familiarity with cloud‑based data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
