Job summary

Standard Chartered in Warsaw seeks an experienced data governance leader to design and oversee the Data Quality Framework, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data for regulatory and risk reporting. You will drive data quality controls, metadata management and remediation across SCB AG, collaborating with business and technology teams.

The role requires 7–10 years in banking data governance, with strong IRB/BCBS 239 experience, and English; German knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years’ experience in banking data governance, data quality, risk data aggregation, regulatory reporting or related control functions.
  • Strong exposure to IRB, BCBS 239, RDRR, regulatory reporting, risk data aggregation, model validation data requirements and supervisory or Internal Audit engagement.
  • Experience defining data quality rules, KPIs, control registers, CDE methodology, metadata requirements and data lineage expectations.
  • Good understanding of banking data architecture, data profiling, SQL concepts, metadata tooling and root cause analysis techniques.
  • English required. German knowledge may be beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and oversee the enterprise Data Quality Framework across SCB AG with focus on IRB models, risk reporting, regulatory reporting, BCBS 239 and RDRR compliance.
  • Ensure data used for regulatory, capital and risk decision-making is accurate, complete, timely, traceable and controlled.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for Data Quality across the first line while supporting second-line data risk ownership and regulatory assurance activities.
  • Develop and operationalise the SCB AG Data Quality Framework and Management Standard.
  • Define data quality dimensions, CDE methodology, DQ controls, KPIs, issue management processes and reporting routines for IRB, risk and regulatory data.
  • Coordinate responses to Internal Audit, supervisory and regulatory findings relating to data quality and remediation status updates.
  • Embed data quality-by-design into change initiatives, system changes and reporting enhancements.
  • Prepare management information for Data Governance Committee and Risk Committee.

Job description

  • Design, implement and oversee the enterprise Data Quality Framework across SCB AG, with primary focus on IRB models, Risk reporting, Regulatory reporting, BCBS 239 and RDRR compliance.
  • Ensure data used for regulatory, capital and risk decision-making is accurate, complete, timely, traceable and controlled.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for Data Quality across the first line, while supporting second-line data risk ownership and regulatory assurance activities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and operationalise the SCB AG Data Quality Framework and Management Standard, aligned to applicable Group standards and second-line data risk ownership.
  • Define data quality dimensions, CDE methodology, DQ controls, KPIs, issue management processes and reporting routines for IRB, risk and regulatory data.
  • Establish and coordinate a Data Quality Forum and drive the local DQ maturity roadmap, including oversight of remediation progress and material data quality breaches.
  • Support BCBS 239, RDRR, IRB and regulatory reporting expectations by ensuring data quality, lineage, metadata and control evidence are sufficiently documented and audit-ready.
  • Coordinate responses to Internal Audit, supervisory and regulatory findings relating to data quality, including preparation of evidence packs and remediation status updates.
  • Embed data quality-by-design into change initiatives, system changes and reporting enhancements, providing advisory support to business lines and technology teams.
  • Prepare management information for Data Governance Committee, Risk Committee where applicable, Model Risk Forum and other senior governance forums.
  • Provide stewardship oversight by defining steward roles and responsibilities, facilitating workshops, maintaining a stewardship RACI and supporting clear accountability across data owners and stewards.
  • Support documentation of IRB data flows, end-to-end lineage and metadata adoption, including monitoring of lineage coverage and completeness metrics.
  • Monitor regulatory change and assess impacts on SCB AG data policies, standards, controls and processes.
  • Define, maintain and enhance data metrics and MI to assess control effectiveness and residual risk.
  • Act as the senior SCB AG representative for data quality, data risk, governance and regulatory matters in relevant forums.
  • Support SCB AG teams in applying best-practice analytics, data quality controls and evidence-based decision-making.
