Job summary

Ocado Group in Kraków is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for the Data Engineering Platform. You will build and operate data pipelines and services powering analytics for two major platforms, OSP and OMRS, with a focus on platform modernisation, Airflow tuning, and cost optimisation.

You will collaborate across Ocado Group, maintain a live slot-availability application, and ensure high reliability and performance in a hybrid, Kraków-based role.

Qualifications

• Strong Python development experience.
• Hands-on IaC experience with Terraform/Ansible/CloudFormation across cloud providers.
• Solid DevOps practices including CI/CD and deployment strategy design.
• Comfort working across the stack from application code to infra.
• Fluent English with hands-on exposure to Python and data tools.

Responsibilities

• Build, run, and improve data pipelines, backend services, and APIs powering analytics for OSP and OMRS.
• Write and evolve Infrastructure as Code for cloud environments.
• Modernise the platform by addressing debt and tuning Airflow/Composer.
• Optimize cloud resource usage and BigQuery costs.
• Participate in monitoring, alerting, and incident response to maintain health.
• Maintain and enhance a live, customer-facing slot-availability app.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams and stakeholders across Ocado Group.
