Job summary

Ocado Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for the Data Engineering Platform in Kraków. You will build, operate, and modernise data pipelines, services and infrastructure that power analytics for OSP and OMRS, blending code, data, and cloud resources with a focus on reliability.

You’ll own Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu) and collaborate across distributed teams, tackling technical debt, tuning Airflow, and optimising BigQuery and SQL workloads to deliver scalable, cost-efficient

Qualifications

• Solid Python software engineering experience.
• Hands-on IaC with Terraform/Ansible/CloudFormation.
• Strong DevOps practices: source control, CI/CD, deployment design.
• Experience across stack: app code, pipelines, infra.
• Able to tackle ambiguous problems and adapt to priorities.

Responsibilities

• Build, run, and improve data pipelines, backend services, and APIs powering analytics.
• Write and evolve Infrastructure as Code for cloud environments.
• Modernise platform by addressing technical debt and tuning Airflow.
• Improve cloud costs by identifying wasteful queries and idle resources.
• Monitor, alert, and respond to incidents to maintain health.
