Job summary

Valora Outcomes is building a data engineering and analytics platform to power product, operations and decision-making across the organization. The Senior Analytics / Data Engineer will own end-to-end data pipelines, from ingestion to dashboards, leveraging Databricks, SQL and cloud technologies.

You will shape the data model, ensure data quality and cost efficiency, and collaborate with product, analytics, backend and cloud teams.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.
• Strong SQL skills with data modelling experience.
• Experience with Databricks, Spark or PySpark.
• Proficient in Python for data processing.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines for production.
• Knowledge of dbt or Dataform.
• Ability to design maintainable data models.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform or CDK).
• ,
• Understanding of data quality, monitoring and incident handling.
• Strong English communication with stakeholders.
• Independent decision-making and prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines.
• Build data ingestion from multiple sources, batch and near real-time.
• Model data with clear metric definitions to reduce reporting chaos.
• Create transformations in SQL, Python, Spark/PySpark, dbt, Dataform or similar tools.
• Work with Databricks and lakehouse architecture.
• Optimize cost, processing time, latency and pipeline stability.
• Design data layers for dashboards, reports and APIs.
• Implement data quality tests, monitoring, alerts and validation mechanisms.
• Make architectural decisions around data models and tools.

• Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Backend and stakeholders.
• Translate ambiguous business needs into concrete models and data contracts.
