Job summary

Hitachi, Ltd. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and optimize data pipelines, build data models for analysis and dashboards, and collaborate across development, analytics, and product teams in Kraków.

You will ensure data quality, scalability, and performance in complex environments, drive best practices for data architecture, and contribute to reporting and visualization solutions using tools like PowerBI and ADX. Fluent English (min B2) preferred.

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with strong experience in building and optimizing data pipelines as well as creating data models for analysis and dashboards. In this role, you will collaborate with developers, analysts, and product owners to ensure data is clean, reliable, and optimized for reporting. You will take initiative to drive improvements in complex environments and recommend best practices for data architecture

You will be joining a dynamic team focused on enhancing the digital journey for our users. This unit is responsible for analyzing complex datasets to drive product innovation and improve customer experiences. As part of this group, you will work alongside product teams and other analysts to uncover patterns, define key metrics, and translate raw data into actionable business recommendations that directly influence decision‑making and product optimization.

Requirements

Must Have Technical Skills:

• Proven experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Hands‑on experience with Databricks and Snowflake.
• Proven experience with SQL.
• Hands‑on experience working with Python.
• Strong understanding of ETL processes and automation.

Tools & Visualization:

• Experience working with visualization tools like PowerBI, ADX, etc.

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with nested data formats such as JSON.

Soft Skills & Work Style:

• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive improvements in complex environments.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills (English min. B2).
