Job summary

Alt Platform Inc. is hiring a Controller to build its accounting function from the ground up. You will bring in-house a one-person Finance team, oversee audits, and drive conversion to full US GAAP accrual accounting for all revenue streams.

You will own tax compliance, asset-backed lending reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations, managing an outsourced provider with a plan to internalize over time. Remote-friendly, with equity and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience including controllership.
• Deep US GAAP knowledge with conversion to accrual accounting.
• Proven ownership of an external audit relationship and related walkthroughs.
• Experience in a marketplace, fintech, or lending environment.
• Fluency with QuickBooks, Ramp, Rippling, and SQL/BI to tie GL entries to source data.
• Experience managing outsourced or offshore accounting teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close end-to-end and drive toward a 5-day, audit-ready close.
• Lead conversion from cash/accrual to full US GAAP accrual across revenue streams.
• Own the chart of accounts and revenue recognition policy.
• Be primary contact for external auditors: manage PBC lists and walkthroughs.
• Own tax compliance calendar (corporate/fund returns, K-1s, 1099s).
• Own covenant and borrowing-base reporting for asset-backed facility.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations and steer outsourced provider toward in-house.
