Job summary

VGS is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. You will build, scale, and fortify global cloud infrastructure for mission-critical, high-throughput payments applications with zero downtime.

You will own core platform components powering our payment systems and drive reliability through GitOps and modern tooling. You’ll mentor engineers, implement automated resiliency, and contribute to a culture of strong technical practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience contributing to complex, distributed systems in mission-critical environments.
• Strong hands-on experience in AWS and Terraform for reproducible environments.
• Hands-on Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, and GitOps workflows (Flux, Argo, GitHub Actions).
• Automation and scripting in Python, Go, or Bash for infra tooling.
• Observability with Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.

Responsibilities

• Build immutable, self-healing AWS infrastructure and globally scalable fleets managed via code.
• Drive resiliency and automation through modern CI/CD pipelines and GitOps.
• Configure telemetry tooling and participate in incident response and blameless post-mortems.
• Enable engineering velocity by partnering with Product, Security, and Core Engineering.
• Maintain high-performance, low-latency connectivity for internal and external traffic.
