Grid Dynamics in Poland is seeking a Senior C++ Engineer to drive OpenXLA PR workflows and maintain stability across GPU/CPU build and test pipelines.

You will join a high‑impact squad, diagnose complex failures, implement fixes, and collaborate with rotation teams on architectural escalations within a global cloud and AI platform infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial software engineering with modern C++ (C++14/17/20).
• Experience with large-scale C++ open-source codebases and PR workflows.
• Strong expertise in C++ build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and debugging in Linux.
• Background in semiconductor/hardware organizations or enterprise hardware environments.
• Strong analytical and triage skills with autonomous work style and good English communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage and streamline the OpenXLA PR workflow in a large open-source C++ repository.
• Diagnose, debug, and fix failed PRs and internal test suites.
• Monitor PRs, triage issues, and communicate with authors and contributors.
• Troubleshoot and resolve build and runtime failures across XLA:GPU and XLA:CPU.
• Escalate architectural issues to appropriate rotation teams.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior C++ Engineer to join a high‑impact engineering initiative supporting core compiler and machine learning infrastructure for a global technology leader and pioneer in cloud, search, and AI platform infrastructure. In this role, you will play a pivotal part within a dedicated Grid Dynamics squad, driving the open‑source OpenXLA pull request (PR) workflow and maintaining system stability. As a Senior Engineer on the team, you will combine strong hands‑on C++ expertise—managing community contributions, troubleshooting complex GPU/CPU build and test failures, implementing targeted fixes, and collaborating with dedicated FTE rotation teams on high‑level architectural escalations.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coordinate, and streamline the OpenXLA pull request (PR) workflow within a large‑scale, high‑concurrency open‑source C++ repository.
• Diagnose, debug, and implement code fixes for failed OpenXLA PRs and internal automated test suites where resolutions are well‑understood or non‑complex.
• Monitor open PRs, conduct technical triage, and maintain active, professional communication with PR authors and community contributors.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex build and runtime failures across XLA:GPU and XLA:CPU pipelines.
• Follow established OpenXLA engineering practices, accurately determining issue severity and technical complexity to guide escalation paths.
• Escalate deep compiler/hardware architecture issues, special privilege requests, or non‑trivial investigations to the appropriate FTE/rotation teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience with a strong foundation in modern C++ (C++14/17/20).
• Proven experience working with large‑scale, complex C++ open‑source codebases and managing PR workflows.
• Strong expertise in C++ build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and debugging build/test failures in Linux environments.
• Hands‑on professional background within semiconductor, chipmaker, hardware design, or enterprise hardware organizations (e.g., NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, Qualcomm, ARM, Dell, Linaro, Huawei, Linux Foundation, MS, or similar).
• Strong analytical and triage skills—ability to independently isolate root causes in software failures and determine escalation paths.
• High degree of autonomy, proactive follow‑up habits, and strong technical communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with LLVM infrastructure, compilers, or code generation frameworks.
• Practical exposure to XLA, OpenXLA, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or deep learning compiler internals.
• Conceptual understanding or hands‑on experience with GPU/CPU internal architectures, memory models, and hardware acceleration (CUDA, ROCm).
• Familiarity with modern AI‑assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot).
• Experience working within Google internal development environments and tooling.
