Job summary

Helprise is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build scalable backend systems powering our furnishing contractor platform. You will work with cross-functional teams to shape solutions, drive architecture decisions, and deliver impactful features.

You will mentor engineers, promote engineering excellence, and contribute to a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement. Flexible hours and remote/hybrid options are available based on the role.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering large-scale backend systems.
• Proven experience building highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, and Spark.
• Strong system design skills for scalable, maintainable architectures.
• Experience working within large codebases with safe, robust engineering practices.
• Ownership mindset and proactive personal and professional growth including taking feedback.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across globally distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly engineering goals while leading your team through complex challenges.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Data Analysts throughout the product lifecycle.
• Identify improvements and lead initiatives to address them.
• Ensure reliability and availability of services; participate in on-call rotations.
• Drive engineering best practices and promote high-quality software across teams.
• Mentor engineers and share knowledge through constructive feedback.
