Job summary

Peloton is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to act as the technical lead for an agile team building scalable microservices across Bike, Tread, Strength, and Digital platforms. You will design, develop, test, deploy, and monitor services powering search, voice, and captions while mentoring juniors and coordinating with TPM, Product, Design and QA.

Qualifications

• MS or BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics
• 6+ years of backend software development experience
• Expertise in Kotlin, Python, or similar languages
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and modern backend frameworks
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Hands-on experience with caching, search, and observability
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in cloud environments
• Experience with AWS services and CI/CD tooling
• Solid understanding of API design, security, and performance optimization
• Production support and incident response experience

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate scalable microservices powering Peloton features
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with TPM and Product
• Write well-tested, maintainable code and reusable libraries
• Lead architecture discussions and establish reusable components
• Improve service scalability through profiling, optimization and caching
• Lead incident response and ensure system reliability during on-call rotations
• Collaborate with Product, Design and QA across the development lifecycle
