Job summary

GFT Poland is seeking a Lead Backend Consultant with AI/ML skills in Kraków for a hybrid role focusing on enterprise-scale Java microservices and AI-enabled development lifecycle. You will design, develop, and support secure, scalable services while working with architects, QA, SRE, and platform teams.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of software engineering, strong Java/Python skills, deep knowledge of SQL databases, CI/CD, and GenAI practices. On-site 8 days/month as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Java microservices with Spring Boot and Python in enterprise-scale environments.
• Experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL databases and API/contract testing.
• Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines, Azure, Jenkins or GitLab, and modern testing tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and support Java microservices in a large enterprise transformation.
• Contribute to solution design, integration patterns, and non-functional requirements.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and blockers; ensure security and governance standards.
• Lead design reviews, code reviews, and security reviews; perform robust testing.
• Work with AI-enabled SDLC including GenAI tools, LLM usage, and RAG concepts.
• Build production-ready services with observability and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with architects, QA, SRE, platform, and operations teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and engineering excellence.
