Job summary

Infolet Kraków is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the NGSM team building a modern network management platform for mission-critical radio systems. You will design and develop scalable backend services and microservices using Java 21+ and Spring, and contribute to architectural decisions.

In a hybrid setup (2 days in the office, 3 days remote), you will work on Kubernetes, Azure, Kafka, PostgreSQL, and cloud environments, focusing on performance, reliability, and maintainability

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Java 21+ and Spring Boot.
• Deep understanding of OOP, clean code, and software engineering principles.
• Experience designing microservices and distributed systems.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (Azure).
• Hands-on with Kafka and/or Azure Event Hubs for event-driven apps.
• Strong PostgreSQL knowledge and database design/optimisation.
• Performance tuning and backend service optimisation.
• Git and GitHub proficiency with Linux scripting.
• Networking fundamentals and practical problem solving.
• Use of AI tools like GitHub Copilot or Google Gemini in development.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills; English in international context.

PROJECT

Join the Next Generation System Management (NGSM) team developing a modern network management platform for mission-critical radio systems.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design and develop scalable backend services and microservices, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure high performance, reliability, and maintainability of distributed systems.

You will work in an experienced engineering team where technical discussions, clean code, modern technologies, and continuous improvement are an important part of everyday work.

YOU WILL

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and microservices using Java 21+ and Spring
• Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions for distributed systems
• Build and orchestrate microservices running in Kubernetes and cloud environments
• Develop event-driven solutions using Kafka and Azure Event Hubs
• Design, manage, and optimise PostgreSQL databases
• Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and resource utilisation
• Troubleshoot complex backend, networking, performance, and orchestration issues
• Work with Azure, Kubernetes, Linux, Git, and GitHub
• Use GitHub Copilot and Google Gemini as part of the daily software development workflow
• Maintain high standards of clean code, testing, and software engineering practices
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural improvements
• Collaborate with other engineers in an Agile environment

MUST HAVE

• Strong commercial experience with Java, preferably Java 21+
• Very good knowledge of Spring / Spring Boot
• Strong understanding of OOP, clean code, and software engineering principles
• Experience designing and developing microservices and distributed systems
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
• Hands-on experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka and/or Azure Event Hubs
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including database design and optimisation
• Experience with performance tuning and optimisation of backend services
• Good knowledge of Git and GitHub
• Practical knowledge of Linux and scripting/automation
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including protocols, routing, and network services
• Experience using generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot or Google Gemini in software development
• Very good troubleshooting and analytical skills
• English allowing effective communication in an international engineering environment

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience working with mission-critical or high-availability systems
• Hands-on experience with lab environments, including system configuration, installations, upgrades, and manual testing
• Experience working as an external contractor or consultant within Agile engineering teams
• Experience creating and maintaining technical and architectural documentation
• Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical discussions
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing technical requirements
