Job summary

Google LLC is hiring a Share Software Engineer III for the Android Launcher in Kraków, Poland. This role focuses on designing and delivering features for the Android Overview experience, with emphasis on performance, memory optimization, and UI modernization.

You'll work with cross-functional teams and contribute to architectural upgrades such as MVVM and Jetpack Compose. Interviews are primarily in-person in most cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience required.
• 2 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of Android application development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and launch new Android Launcher features such as drag and drop, pagination, and multi-display support.
• Analyze and improve performance, responsiveness, and memory footprint of Overview features within Launcher.
• Contribute to architectural modernization of Launcher, adopting MVVM and Jetpack Compose for UI development.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, product managers, and engineers across Launcher and Android Platform.
• Develop and improve testing infrastructure to ensure stability and quality of Overview features.
