Job summary

Google Kraków is seeking a software engineer to design and implement features for the Android Overview experience. You will work on performance, accessibility, and architecture with MVVM and Jetpack Compose, collaborating across cross-functional teams.

The role demands hands-on Android development in Kotlin with a focus on large-scale systems. Individual pay is determined by skills, experience, and education, with a generous compensation package including equity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of software development experience in one or more languages.
• 3 years testing/maintaining/launching software products; 1 year in large-scale design/architecture.
• 3 years Android development experience.
• Experience with Kotlin programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and launch new features for the Android Overview experience, such as enhanced drag and drop, pagination, and multi-display support.
• Analyze and improve the performance, responsiveness, and memory footprint of Overview features within Launcher.
• Contribute to the ongoing architectural modernization of Launcher, including adopting MVVM and Jetpack Compose for UI development.
• Investigate, debug, and resolve complex issues related to functionality, performance, and accessibility within Overview.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, product managers, and engineers across Launcher and Android Platform to define and build innovative multitasking solutions.
