Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Software Engineer to join its Data Practice. You will ingest, transform, and validate diverse data sources, using Spark and cloud services.

You will implement business logic, optimize retrieval, and build dashboards while collaborating with data scientists and IT professionals. You will work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, leveraging Python/Scala/Java and modern data tools, with a focus on data integrity and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical field.
• 5+ years experience in software development with Big Data technologies.
• Advanced knowledge of Python, Scala, or Java.
• Proficient with Spark and Databricks and/or Snowflake.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, AWS.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB).
• Strong data warehousing, ETL, and data modelling skills.
• Excellent English communication (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Implement data ingestion from diverse sources using RDBMS, APIs, files and streams.
• Process and transform data using Spark and cloud services.
• Understand and implement project-specific business logic in the data platform.
• Optimize data retrieval, develop dashboards, and validate data.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts and IT staff.
• Provide leadership on Big Data best practices and trends.
• Maintain data source integrity and security; troubleshoot and upgrade systems.
