Job summary

Solid Company is seeking a DevOps-focused Unix/Linux Systems Administrator embedded within application development DevOps pods for a major, highly regulated financial enterprise. You will configure, deliver, and support enterprise Linux server environments, drive automation, capacity management, and maintain high SLA standards.

You will collaborate with pods to deploy, script (Shell, Python, Ansible), handle incidents, advise on hardware, storage, networking, and ensure deployments meet strict

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of hands-on Linux server administration (RHEL preferred) including volume management, multipathing, and kernel parameter tuning.
• Strong scripting: Shell, Python, Perl; hands-on with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Enterprise hardware (IBM/HP x86), virtualization (VMware), NAS/SAN storage configuration, and core networking (TCP/IP, Firewalls, VIPs).
• Proven track record in large-scale, highly regulated industries (financial services) with ITIL/compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Perform proactive root cause analysis, incident troubleshooting, and capacity management.

You will

• Environment & Pod Support: Configure, deploy, and manage Linux server environments across live and non-live environments, collaborating closely with DevOps pods,
• Automation & Scripting: Build automation capabilities and write scripts (Shell, Python, Ansible) to streamline BAU operational tasks and reduce manual tasks,
• Troubleshooting & Incident Management: Perform proactive root cause analysis, incident troubleshooting, and capacity management to prevent downtime,
• Infrastructure Collaboration: Advise on Unix/Linux design best practices, supporting storage (NAS/SAN), networking, hardware (IBM/HP), and virtualization platforms,
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all deployments conform to strict enterprise security standards, risk policies, and change control procedures.
