Job summary

Infolet in Kraków, Poland is seeking a DevOps-focused Unix/Linux Systems Administrator to join our application development DevOps pods. You will configure, deploy, and support enterprise Linux environments, driving automation and capacity management while maintaining high SLA standards.

You will collaborate with DevOps teams, write scripts (Shell, Python, Perl, Ansible), and ensure deployments comply with ITIL and security policies in a highly regulated financial enterprise.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of hands-on Linux server administration (RHEL preferred).
• Strong scripting skills (Shell / Python / Perl) and experience with configuration management tools (Ansible / Puppet / Chef).
• Hardware background with enterprise IBM/HP hardware, virtualization (VMware), NAS/SAN storage, and core networking (TCP/IP, Firewalls, VIPs).
• Experience in large-scale, regulated industries (Financial Services) with ITIL/compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

Job description

DevOps-focused Unix/Linux Systems Administrator role embedded within application development DevOps 'pods' for a major, highly regulated financial enterprise. Position responsible for configuring, delivering, and supporting enterprise Linux server environments, driving infrastructure automation, capacity management, and maintaining high SLA standards.

You will

• Environment & Pod Support: Configure, deploy, and manage Linux server environments across live and non-live environments, collaborating closely with DevOps pods
• Automation & Scripting: Build automation capabilities and write scripts (Shell, Python, Ansible) to streamline BAU operational tasks and reduce manual tasks
• Troubleshooting & Incident Management: Perform proactive root cause analysis, incident troubleshooting, and capacity management to prevent downtime
• Infrastructure Collaboration: Advise on Unix/Linux design best practices, supporting storage (NAS/SAN), networking, hardware (IBM/HP), and virtualization platforms
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all deployments conform to strict enterprise security standards, risk policies, and change control procedures

Must have

• Linux Expertise: 6–10 years of hands‑on experience in Linux server administration (RHEL preferred), including volume management, multipathing, and kernel parameter tuning
• Automation & DevOps: Strong scripting skills (Shell / Python / Perl) and hands‑on experience with configuration management tools (Ansible / Puppet / Chef)
• Hardware & Storage/Network: Solid background with enterprise hardware (IBM/HP x86), virtualization (VMware), NAS/SAN storage configuration, and core networking (TCP/IP, Firewalls, VIPs)
• Enterprise Environment: Proven track record in large‑scale, highly regulated industries (e.g., Financial Services) operating under strict ITIL/compliance frameworks

Nice to have

• OS & Clustering: Experience with SLES, Solaris, Veritas Volume Manager, or Veritas Cluster Server (VCS)
• Middleware & Databases: Familiarity with WebSphere, Apache/Tomcat, MQ, Oracle RAC, MS SQL, or DB2
• Certifications: Industry-standard Unix/Linux or Agile certifications
