Job summary

Arla Group, based in Gdańsk, is seeking a Senior Accountant with German to own complex Account to Report activities within our Global Shared Services. You will ensure accurate financial operations, support statutory and management reporting, and partner with stakeholders across the organization.

You will contribute to finance transformation, process optimisation, and knowledge sharing, while collaborating with country teams and driving continuous improvement in accounting practices.

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional accounting experience, preferably multinational.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and General Ledger processes.
• Experience with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Knowledge of Fixed Assets, Leasing, COGS and Group accounting.
• Advanced SAP or other ERP system knowledge and advanced Excel skills.
• Fluent English and German, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and timely Account to Report activities according to SLAs.
• Perform General Ledger closing processes and ensure high-quality reporting.
• Prepare, validate and post manual journal entries.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review reconciliations.
• Support internal and external audits with reports and documentation.
• Prepare reports, analyses and documentation for stakeholders and authorities.
• Participate in finance transformation, harmonisation and process improvement projects.
• Collaborate with business controllers and stakeholders across supported countries.
• Train and support other finance team members, sharing expertise.

Would you like to take ownership of complex accounting processes in a global organization while driving continuous improvement and partnering with stakeholders?

Join our Account to Report (A2R) team in Global Shared Services in Gdańsk and contribute your accounting expertise in an international environment. As a Senior Accountant with German, you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality financial operations, supporting statutory and management reporting processes, and acting as a trusted partner for both business stakeholders and colleagues across the organization.

How you will make an impact

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely Account to Report activities while ensuring compliance with internal controls, accounting standards and service level agreements. You will also support finance transformation initiatives, process optimisation and knowledge sharing across the team.

Key responsibilities include

• Performing daily, monthly and annual A2R activities in accordance with agreed timelines and SLAs.
• Executing General Ledger period-end closing processes and ensuring high-quality financial reporting.
• Preparing, validating and posting manual journal entries.
• Reconciling balance sheet accounts and reviewing reconciliations completed within the team.
• Supporting internal and external audits, including preparation of reports and documentation.
• Preparing reports, analyses and documentation for internal stakeholders and external authorities.
• Participating in finance transformation, harmonisation and process improvement projects.
• Cooperating closely with business controllers and stakeholders in the countries supported by the Centre.
• Training and supporting other finance team members while sharing accounting and process expertise.

To succeed in this role, you bring

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in accounting, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and General Ledger processes.
• Understanding of month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Knowledge of related finance processes such as Fixed Assets, Leasing, COGS and Group accounting.
• Advanced SAP or other integrated ERP system knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Fluent English and German, both written and spoken.
